My Philosophy

Resilience Career Coaching’s approach to coaching includes several philosophies to include Ikigai and The 8 Dimensions of Wellness. We strive to maintain a balanced outlook in coaching by acknowledging both the challenges and opportunities present in a client's situation without veering into pessimism or toxic positivity. Our goal is to help clients cultivate resilience, optimism, and well-being while acknowledging the complexities and realities of life.

At Resilience Career Coaching, our methodology is designed to holistically support clients on their journey towards personal and professional growth, integrating the following approaches:

  1. Validation: We prioritize creating a validating environment where clients feel heard, understood, and validated in their experiences, emotions, and aspirations. Validation fosters trust and rapport, laying the foundation for effective coaching.
  2. Realistic Optimism: We cultivate a mindset of realistic optimism, acknowledging challenges while maintaining a positive outlook on the possibilities for growth and change. This balanced perspective empowers clients to envision achievable goals and navigate setbacks with resilience.
  3. Empowerment: Central to our approach is the principle of empowerment, wherein clients are encouraged to recognize their strengths, talents, and potential. Through personalized guidance and support, clients develop the confidence and agency to take proactive steps towards their career aspirations.
  4. Self-Compassion: We emphasize the importance of self-compassion in navigating challenges and setbacks. By cultivating self-compassion, clients learn to treat themselves with kindness and understanding, fostering resilience and self-acceptance in the face of adversity.
  5. Gratitude and Acceptance: Practicing gratitude and acceptance enables clients to embrace their current circumstances, cultivate a sense of contentment, and find meaning and fulfillment in their professional endeavors. These practices foster a positive mindset and resilience in the face of adversity.
  6. Flexibility and Adaptability: Recognizing the dynamic nature of both personal and professional life, we promote flexibility and adaptability in goal-setting and action plans. Clients learn to navigate change with agility, adjusting their strategies as needed to align with evolving priorities and circumstances.
  7. Mindfulness and Presence: Incorporating mindfulness and presence into coaching sessions fosters greater self-awareness, clarity, and focus. Clients learn to cultivate mindfulness practices to manage stress, enhance decision-making, and foster deeper connections with themselves and others.

Through the integration of these approaches, Resilience Career Coaching provides a comprehensive framework for supporting clients in their journey towards career fulfillment, resilience, and personal growth. By embracing validation, realistic optimism, empowerment, self-compassion, gratitude and acceptance, flexibility and adaptability, mindfulness and presence, clients are equipped with the tools and mindset needed to navigate the complexities of career development with courage, resilience, and authenticity.

Success Stories

Finding Purpose Through Authenticity

J worked two jobs—managing a restaurant and working at a yoga studio. While she enjoyed both roles, she longed for a more consistent schedule and a position that wouldn’t keep her on her feet all day.

When we met, we explored her goals and values in depth. J realized that the organization she worked for mattered more to her than the specific work she did. She wanted to make a difference in a mission-driven environment, ideally outside of the city but still within her current region.

Together, we conducted an organizational search focused on local nonprofits whose missions aligned with her personal interests. The first opportunity we identified seemed like a perfect match—an accounting position at a nonprofit whose mission deeply resonated with her.

J’s resume initially listed her experience but didn’t reflect her personality or passions. I reformatted it to be ATS-friendly, added targeted keywords to highlight her skills, and incorporated details about her small social media side business. This addition turned out to be a key differentiator—her creative venture aligned directly with the nonprofit’s mission, and her following qualified her as a micro-influencer.

J crafted her own heartfelt cover letter, clearly expressing why this organization was where she wanted to grow. Within days of applying, she was invited to interview. We met for a quick prep session focused on how to qualify herself confidently for the role.

Although J felt nervous and doubted her performance—aren’t we all our own worst critics?—I encouraged her to send a thoughtful thank-you note acknowledging her nerves while emphasizing her passion for the organization. The next day, she was invited for a two-hour, six-person panel interview. She prepared intentionally, right down to details like choosing earrings that reflected the organization’s mission.

Her authenticity shone through. Her interests and online presence became a highlight of the discussion, and within 24 hours, she received an offer—so aligned with her goals and values that no negotiation was needed.

This story is a wonderful reminder that authenticity can be your greatest asset in a job search. Employers hire not just for skills and experience, but for passion, alignment, and the genuine energy you bring to the work.
